Barry Athletic CC is situated on Barry Island less than 100 yards from the beach, at the ever popular Barry Oval ground. The club holds eight sides including the first team (1st XI) for the highly talented, the second team (2nd XI) for the talented and the third team (3rd XI) for the late teens looking to develop and work their way into the top two teams.
Barry Athletic CC also hold a Midweek XI, which is also used to help develop young players to be able to play in the higher tiers of cricket at the club.
In addition, there are teams for youth cricketers ranging from Under 9s to Under 15s, coached by players at the club who have experienced that particular level of cricket. These forms of cricket aim to develop young talent and push them for a place in our senior sides.
Barry Athletic CC have been competing in the South Wales Cricket League for over a decade, competing against the likes of Newport Fugitives CC and Croesyceiliog CC. From the 2010 Season onwards, the Leage will be re-named the 'Glamorgan and Monmouthshire Cricket League', where the 1st XI will be in Division Three and the 2nd XI in Division Two.
